Robina Doctors New Patient Registration and Enrollment. New Patients welcome. My Medicare
Patient Categories
- Enrolled Patients:
Enrolled patients refer to individuals who have formally registered or signed up with one the General Practitioners providing their services from our facility. These patients have completed the necessary paperwork, provided their personal information, and agreed to receive medical services from their preferred GP. Enrolled patients have an established relationship with their preferred GP, who will maintain their medical records, track their health history, and offer ongoing care and support.
- Casual Patients:
On the other hand, casual patients are individuals who seek medical attention or services on an irregular basis often with another General Practitioner, without being formally enrolled or affiliated with one of the General Practitioner’s providing their services from our facility. They may visit our facility for a one-time consultation, specific treatments, or non-routine medical needs. Casual patients do not have a comprehensive medical record maintained by any of the GP’s providing their services from our facility, and their interactions with the GP are typically more sporadic. Their preferred GP does not provide services from our facility. Casual patients are visitors who do not intend to utilise our services on an ongoing basis.

MY MEDICARE
What is MyMedicare?
MyMedicare is a new voluntary patient registration model. It aims to strengthen the relationship between patients, their General Practice, General Practitioner (GP) and Primary Care Teams.
Registration in MyMedicare is voluntary for patients, practices and providers. Visit MyMedicare
Why is it important?
MyMedicare patients will have access to:
- greater continuity of care with their registered practice, improving health outcomes
- longer MBS-funded telephone calls (Levels C and D) with their usual general practice
- triple bulk billing incentive for longer MBS telehealth consultations (Levels C, D and E) for children under 16, pensioners, and concession card holders.
MyMedicare practices will have access to:
- more information about regular patients, making it easier to tailor services to fit the patient’s needs.
- the new longer telehealth items linked to MyMedicare outlined above.
- the General Practice in Aged Care Incentive from 1 August 2024, which will support regular health assessments, care plans and regular GP visits for people in residential aged care homes.
- new blended funding payments to support better care in the community for people with complex, chronic disease who frequently attend hospitals. These arrangements will roll out progressively across the country over three years from FY2024–25.
- Chronic Disease Management items linked to a patient’s registration in MyMedicare from November 2024, to support continuity of care for people with chronic and complex conditions. Patients who are not registered in MyMedicare will still be able to receive Chronic Disease Management items from their usual GP.
How do I register?
Patients can register for MyMedicare from 1 October 2023.
Patients must have a Medicare or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Veteran card to register in MyMedicare. There will be options for patients to register online and or in-person at their registered practice.
